Welcome! I am Yehzee Ryoo, a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science and an M.S. student in Statistics (Applied Statistics) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
My research interests include public opinon and interstate conflict, political psychology and domestic politics of foreign policy. I examine the role of public perception, democratic norms, and electoral constraints in shaping democratic states' military strategies. In my dissertation, I explore the complex relationship between democratic states' public opinion and military operations, with a focus on moral considerations and how civilian casualties influence this dynamic.
I employ survey experiments, network analysis, time series, and text analysis to study these topics. I am also interested in the application of network data in causal mediation analysis.
You can find my Research and Projects and a copy of my CV here. Please feel free to reach out to me!
